5 Essential Things You Ought to Know Before Visiting a Cannabis Dispensary

You’ve heard the hype about legal marijuana. And its hype comes with good reason. Marijuana contains many health benefits for its users.

It’s natural and isn’t something that’s been created in a lab. For this reason, it’s a popular medicine among many people, but if you’re new to it, then you might be feeling a bit nervous to try it out or purchase it from a cannabis dispensary. Walking into a dispensary for the first time can be a bit intimidating.

This feeling might not completely wear off until you’ve made a few visits here and there and become more comfortable with the setting and the process. However, there are a few things to know about visiting a dispensary that will make your visit a lot more mellow. Take a deep breath and read on.

Here are 5 things to know before making the trip.

1. Not All Dispensaries Are Recreational

When visiting a dispensary in a location such as Nevada or Colorado, it’s easy to forget that not all of them are recreational. Even in states where marijuana is legalized for recreational use, there are still some dispensaries that only allow those with medical cards to make a purchase.

This could really ruin your trip if you plan a visit to one only to learn that you can’t even make a purchase. Instead, do some research before heading out. Find out which dispensaries are medical only and which ones offer recreational purchases.

Once you’ve done this, take the time to look up the products offered there and the prices. There are a few things to know about marijuana products before purchasing them such as the quality of the product and more. It’s always a good idea to do some comparing before making a final selection.

2. You Need a Few Essential Items First

Now that you’ve found the perfect dispensary, it’s time to gather all of the necessary items. Do understand that you’ll need cash on hand to make your purchase. Most dispensaries do have an ATM located inside them for this reason, however, opting to use the ATMs could leave you with some unwanted ATM fees.

It’s best to be prepared and plan ahead. Visit your bank and pull the money out without having to get charged an arm and a leg for it. It’s also a good rule of thumb to bring more cash than you think you need.

You never know what might catch your eye while there, and you don’t want to resort to using the ATM because you didn’t bring enough. Most dispensaries sell awesome clothing items and other cool things that you might want to bring home with you. You’ll also want to remember to bring your ID with you.

Without your ID, you won’t be able to enter the dispensary. Have these two things on hand, and you’ll be shopping with ease.

3. Do Some Research on What You Want

Know before you go. When you enter the dispensary, a worker is going to ask you what it is you’re looking for. Your answer could be a specific type of flower, or it could be the reason why you’re buying it.

Either way, it’s nice to know what it is you want before arriving. Do some research on their website and see what products they have. Look into the products and determine what you think you might need or want.

If you’re debating between a flower and an edible, then do some research to determine which one you think would work better for you. This way, you go into the dispensary with some type of background knowledge.

4. Give Yourself Enough Time to Browse

Always give yourself enough time to browse. If you only have a 30-minute window to do your shopping, then you might want to come back at a later time. This is especially true when it’s your first time visiting.

There will be a lot to see and a lot to learn about while there. You don’t want to feel rushed while shopping. Remember, once you make a purchase, you won’t be able to return it.

For this reason, you need to be sure that you’re getting exactly what you want, which may take some time to figure out.

5. Stay Relaxed and Ask all Your Questions

At the very least, be sure to remain relaxed throughout your entire visit. Don’t feel like there’s any reason to be uncomfortable. Take that deep breath again and enjoy your shopping experience.

When you’re not sure about something, don’t hesitate to ask a worker. Many dispensaries have workers walking around for the sole purpose of helping customers and answering all their questions. The staff is trained in knowing all about the marijuana products displayed.

When lost or confused about something, they’ll be able to point you in the right direction.
