For any vendor, having an online presence is a painless way to let people know who you are and what services you provide. Don’t think that’s the only way to attract more customers however. It’s also a great idea to keep an eye on review websites and ask customers to leave a positive review for the service you offer.

With keeping an eye on reviews, you’ll be able to not only address any complaints but show potential customers that if there is ever an issue you’ll be quick to respond and clear up any confusion. You can also have links to positive reviews on your website so potential customers can see what other people have thought about working with you.

Referrals

When looking for new customers, often the best place to look is through previous customers. Depending on your exact service, you might have an ongoing relationship with most of those you work with and if they are happy with what you provide, they’ll be sure to recommend you when someone they know is looking for someone with your set of skills.

If passive referrals don’t seem to be working, you can build it into the sales process. If you have recurring customers, you can offer incentives for them to bring additional customers.

Another option here is traditional networking. It can be as simple as letting others know you exist. Joining your local chamber or any local business groups is a sure way to engage with those also in your community.

Even if those you meet don’t directly need the services you provide, if you’ve made a good impression you’ll be the first person they think of when someone else asks if they have any recommendations.

There’s so many ways to get your name out there in the world and the only important thing is that you do it. Depending on what type of vendor you are, you might want to consider renting a billboard or if you work out of a brick and mortar building, adding an outdoor retail display.

It is a great way to grab the attention of those walking or driving by your business. Most of us would have either our names, or the name of your business on the building, but that’s not going to grab everyone. Having something more at eye level on the sidewalk will grab those walking or driving by more easily.

Along with having your social media presence, you can also have your services show up as advertisements throughout the various social media platforms of your choosing. With targeted ads you’ll be able to reach people through whichever social media best fits your business.
