Job Responsibilities
The Assistant Registrar oversees and maintains the Course Scheduling functions for the Main Campus division of the Office of the University Registrar. This position operates independently and in collaboration with other departments to devise business solutions for departmental challenges while utilizing the Course Leaf Section Scheduler (CLSS). Additionally, the Assistant Registrar manages time and resources associated with the scheduling processes, ensures data integrity within the systems, and critically examines business practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Essential Functions
- Works operationally on all course scheduling for the entire University with respect to Course Leaf Section Scheduler (CLSS).
- Primarily functions as the department liaison for Course scheduling and training through CLSS by managing all CLSS functionality.
- Collaborate with the Associate Registrars and Senior Associate Registrar to solve scheduling problems and develop intelligent, proactive solutions.
- Executes and manages CourseLeaf, CLSS and Ad Astra Aligns to work with academic department to predict and develop course offerings.
- Works with all academic departments on Main Campus, including the Office of the Provost, to develop business solutions in adherence to course scheduling and initiatives.
- Manages the Registrar email account and CLSS inquiries.
- Manages the processing of all non-workflow tasks through CLSS.
- Manages the analysis and utilization of CLSS reports.
- Ensures data integrity in Banner/CLSS through ongoing rigorous auditing and provides plans for future goals and objectives as defined by the strategic plan in association with scheduling.
- Manages all CLSS and Hyperion/OAS Oracle reports, audits, and edits created by Academic Information and Systems.
- Regularly updates documentation for Course Scheduling MS Teams for the departmental schedulers.
- Provides CLSS training and customer service to schedulers within academic departments.
- Performs all duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and self-motivation with respect to task and project management.
- Experience using report-generation tools like Office365, Hyperion Query or OAS Oracle.
- Experience working with Ellucian Banner (or CourseLeaf CLSS in combination with other ERP experience)
- Extensive knowledge of the Banner Student and academic scheduling.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to function as a team player.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to concisely describe reporting needs or communicate system errors.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a group.
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Self-starter who takes their initiative with respect to workflow design.

Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of database structures and database application techniques.
Salary
$54,630 – $81,940 a year
