Job Responsibilities

Financial and Budget Analysis

  • Analyze, reconcile, and monitor accounting data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly financial reviews and variance analyses.
  • Review funding status, obligations, and expenditures to support budget integrity.
  • Prepare vendor payment reconciliation reports and ensure proper close-out and reclassification.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, summaries, and management analyses.
  • Perform account reconciliations and generate standard financial analysis reports.

Budget Execution and Contract Support

  • Review and process invoices, ensuring accuracy and fund availability.
  • Coordinate invoice corrections or rejections and maintain accurate payment records.
  • Support contract and obligation closeout activities and assist in developing funding packages.

Data and Records Management

  • Maintain and update financial databases, reports, and reference materials.
  • Verify data accuracy against source documents and resolve discrepancies.
  • Organize and maintain digital and physical filing systems.
  • Update policy manuals, directives, and internal documentation as needed.

Technical and Analytical Support

  • Utilize Excel, Access, and database tools to analyze and report on financial data.
  • Create charts, graphs, and presentations to communicate budgetary insights.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and trend reporting to support strategic decisions.
  • Provide support for financial systems, data migration, and record archiving.

Program and Administrative Support

  • Reconcile annual appropriations and support reporting cycles.
  • Assist with official travel documentation, including funding and tracking.
  • Support audits, special projects, and data calls with timely and accurate reporting.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) to include coursework in finance, quantitative methods, or accounting
  • Must have at least four (4) years of active experience in federal financial policy, procedures, regulations, and guidelines applicable to financial management programs, processes, and systems.
  • Strong background in financial operations, accounting, or administrative support
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications
  • Experience with federal financial systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive data and meet strict deadlines
  • Familiarity with DHS/FPS procedures and documentation standards preferred

Salary

$90,000 – $140,000 a year
