Job Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Meets with paralegals, and clients to discuss assigned cases or projects.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories, files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
  • Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to paralegals.
  • Interviews clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements.
  • Prepares, schedules, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, save records, efile, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, and calendaring depositions to include links, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
  • Assists paralegal with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.
  • Manages and resolves client bill, settlement disbursal(s), assist with invoices
  • Collect, organize, and manages medical for assigned client(s)
  • Convert and/or maintain law practice management software
  • Sends out reminders regarding discovery due and efile motions
  • Offers general administrative support to paralegal
  • Maintains exceptional communication with client(s)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years experience working in a legal office setting
  • Prelitigation experience
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Adobe
  • Bilingual in Spanish

Preferred Skills

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or 4 direct years’ experience working under an attorney’s supervision
  • Paralegal Certificate
  • Personal Injury experience
  • Prior experience in a legal setting

$22 / hr
