Job Responsibilities
- Assist innovation engineer to design, prototype, and test new products.
- Explore innovative materials, production methods, and tooling solutions to enhance product performance, functionality, and manufacturability.
- Support pilot runs and prototype builds to validate new product designs and manufacturing approaches.
- Create and refine CAD models, layouts, drafting documentation and schematics for new products and experimental production setups.
- Work with sales team to produce technical drawings for manufacturing and production teams.
- Collect and analyze data from prototype testing and small-scale production to inform design improvements and product iterations.
- Contribute to ideation sessions, product design reviews, and cross-functional innovation workshops.
- Assist in documenting product development experiments, prototype results, and lessons learned to accelerate future projects.
- Work closely with quality, sales and production teams to translate innovative ideas into scalable, manufacturable products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Strong interest in product design, prototyping and hands-on experimentation.
- Creative problem-solver with a curiosity for materials, manufacturing technologies and new product possibilities.
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks).
- Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or production engineering.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
- Comfortable working in an iterative, fast-moving product development environment.
- Flexible working outside normal work hours, as required.
