Job Responsibilities
We are searching for a VP of Design and Creative. This person will help create our ideas and plans at Podium. You will be the leader of how our products look and how people use them. You will work with the engineers and the product teams to make it easy and fun for users. You will also help with our brand to ensure that everything looks and feels the same for our customers.
You will report to the Chief Product and Marketing Officer. You will work with many engineering, product, marketing, and sales teams. Together, you will make strong design ideas, find out what users need help with, and grow Podium’s design skills.
What you will be doing:
- Build, manage, and mentor high-performing Product Design and Marketing Creative teams at Podium, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, urgency, and continuous improvement.
- Shape and drive the vision for user-centric product design and experience at Podium, ensuring design decisions are rooted in solving user pain points and enhancing product functionality.
- Partner with product and engineering, and other cross-functional partners to deliver exceptional user experiences that drive impact for Podium users.
- Oversee the Product Design team in creating end-to-end user experiences that drive impact and results. While the primary focus will be on the product side, you will also lead the Creative team to ensure consistency across user touchpoints.
- Partner closely with marketing to drive a high impact creative roadmap. Continuously refine strategy based on performance results, customer insights, and business needs.
- Partner with senior leadership to shape the product vision and ensure alignment with Podium’s strategic goals, driving company-wide design definition, specification and collaboration with cross-functional partners.
- Lead, grow, and inspire a high-performing team of designers, design leaders and creative professionals who are focused on the end-to-end Podium experience across our different segments of users, towards cohesion and successful results
- Establish processes and tools to scale processes, streamline design workflows, improve efficiency, and ensure high-quality delivery as the team and product offerings grow.
Requirements
- Significant experience (8+ years) leading and managing product design and creative teams, including design leaders.
- Experience leading and collaborating with diverse, distributed teams in a dynamic, rapid-growth environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and brainstorming skills – with the ability to navigate and thrive in ambiguity
- Passion for building scalable solutions and services, working with (and simplifying) sophisticated design systems that span multiple products.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to balance creativity with data-driven decision-making.
- Proven experience working on a cross-functional leadership team where you deeply collaborated with engineering, product, and data teams to plan and implement team roadmaps.
