The title defence of Andy Murray in US Open ended tamely while Swiss 9th seed who is Stanislas Wawrinka did outplay him in quarter-finals over Flushing Meadows.

Briton, seeded 3rd, failed in earning one single breaking point in one defeat of 6-3 and 6-4 as well as 6-2 on the Stadium of Arthur Ashe.Murray struggled in finding the best of his form since he won Wimbledon 2 months back and the frustration he had was quite clear when was given one code violation as for the racquet abuse.

Murray told that Wawrinka did play exceptional tennis along with serving greatly.During a match a lot predicted would be going to 5 sets, this took two hours 15 minutes only for great attacking game by Wawrinka to prevail over a blustery and hot afternoon within NY.

This twenty eight-year-old does move on his 1st semi-final of Grand Slam, where he would face world No.1 Novak Djokovic, the one to beat Mikhail Youzhny, twenty-first seed,  6-2 6-3 3-6 and 6-0 during night session.

Aged 26, Murray, did win his 1st major title during US Open in last year, but even Sir Sean Connery’s return to watch the fellow Scot might not inspire performance’s similar level.

Wawrinka was last man who beat Murray within 1st week of Grand Slam, on US Open of  2010, and also he inflicted painful defeat over British No.1.

Conditions did cause both players many problems in early stages, along with Murray who was netting one straightforward volley as before Wawrinka had played one air shot at his usually excellent backhand.

Actually, it was Swiss who appeared more threatening, along with Murray now succeeding to find a potency on the serve and hardly winning over half of points during service games.

Murray had pay within game ten when he did let one lead slip at 40-0 with 3 errors, and that was after one tussle of 16 minutes Wawrinka converted the 6th set point due Murray’s loose forehand.

This prompted champion into smashing the racquet with anger and quickly he was in trouble within 2nd set, though did come up with one 2nd-serve’s ace down in middle for staying on terms.

Before match, Wawrinka spoke of the way he became confident player during recent months. Belief flowed within him while he took grip over match with the successive games of love.

One winner did get him break and lead of 4-2 – though it did come after Murray offered up 3 errors, and Briton looked one dejected figure who was heading into 3rd set.

Record of Murray from 2 sets down appears to be impressive though there wasn’t any sign of any comeback at that time, and one double fault did give Wawrinka lead with 2-1 as before one other terrific pass that’s all but a sealed victory as for Swiss with double break.

His nerve was held by Wawrinka with 0-30 for serving out a biggest win of career, and for ensuring Murray will not defend his title within the final that’s on evening of this Monday.

Wawrinka commented that it was amazing for him being in 1st semi-final within one Grand Slam, and especially after he had beaten Andy Murray, the defending champion. Wawrinka said  Murray just won the Wimbledon and was great champion.
